Luxury’s true intelligence

LUXURY INSIGHTS | April 14, 2026
Timeless insights for luxury brands.

The conversation surrounding AI feels inescapable, doesn't it?

Sometimes I yearn for the simpler times, where good old-fashioned human interaction was all that was available.

That said, efficiency certainly has its place. However, relying entirely on technology to steer a brand, formulate its communications, and shape its culture is a rapid path to commoditization.

01. INSIGHT

Amidst rapid AI advancements, luxury must prioritize a different type of intelligence: EI.

Emotional Intelligence “shapes our interactions with others,” as Psychologist Daniel Goleman popularized in his bestselling book, Emotional Intelligence, and in luxury today it’s a fundamental difference maker.

It is not a new phenomenon that empathy drives enduring success. This requires fostering a culture that earns the trust of artisans and anticipates the unspoken desires of clientele.

Luxury brand communications cannot be dictated by algorithms. Intuitive, emotional foresight is required; a skill that technology simply cannot replicate.

And, as a recent article in Jing Daily emphasized, the rise of AI has made human capabilities, such as emotional intelligence, the ultimate competitive advantage.

02. INSPIRATION

“The brands that forgo human connection will lose. AI is turning communication into a commodity. It boils down to the fact that people want to talk through machines, not to machines.”

— Mike Donoghue
